Primes are people who possess superpowers naturally without the use of a website. While originally used to describe people solely for people born with Superpowers, it is later used to describe people who also attain the powers permanently by other means.

Background

Characteristics

Primes all have the ability to use superpowers through biological means rather than artificial interventions e.g. Websites. There are two types of Primes:

  • Primes with the innate ability to use powers and as such have been born with them since birth. It is noted that this kind of Prime is on the recline, as fewer people are being born with Superpowers. I also appears that being prime is hereditary, as Eric Kirby and his brother Leech as well as Leech’s son all possessed superpowers, but it appears the exact powers are not as all three were born with completely different powers.
  • Humans who have achieved the ability to use powers through accidents e.g. Basilisk attaining powers through accidental radiation exposure or attaining specific objects e.g. Necros attaining control over life and death through finding the Core Power Crystal.

Regardless of the type of Prime, inevitably their powers will weaken and eventually fade, the exact speed of this degradation appears to depend on the person as Blizzard‘s powers were practically gone by the time he was middle aged but psych‘s powers remained while he was the same age, however, this can be reversed through various means, if their superpowers are innate it is possible to restore a person’s superpowers by fusing Raw Superpowers to their body (although the process is extremely painful), if the powers are granted by external means then reapplying/ remaining close to the source will maintain the powers such as how Necros had to remain close to his crystal in order to keep his abilities from fading.

Trivia

  • It is possible that the Immortality gained through Life and Death Manipulation could prolong the longevity of Superpowers and all known owners of immortality retained their innate superpowers when they were extremely old.
  • Jake Hunter is not considered a Prime despite having a sort of Superpower, this is probably due to him relying on Villain.net to use superpowers, as the once he creates are from the powers he downloaded.
